Rural Coloradans, specifically ranchers, may have just gained a new ally in their fight to protect their livestock from wolves — drones!
Colorado Parks & Wildlife (CPW) has begun a grant-funded, multi-year study testing drones as a non-lethal way to haze gray wolves away from livestock.
A similar project is underway along the California/Oregon border, where drones are playing famous movie lines and music such as AC/DC's “Thunderstruck” to haze wolves.
When all else fails, the drone pilots just yell through the loudspeaker.
