Tomorrow is a critical day to defend our Second Amendment rights in Colorado.

That's because tomorrow at 1:30PM, the House State, Civic, Military, and Veterans Affairs Committee will hear three major Second Amendment bills that could significantly impact gun owners across our state.

Two expand government control.

One restores constitutional protections.

After reviewing each bill, please use the link below to contact the members of the committee to make your position known on these bills!

Here is what you need to know before the hearing:

SB26-004 - Red Flag Expansion

SB26-004 expands Colorado’s existing “Red Flag” law, officially known as the Extreme Risk Protection Order statute.

This bill broadens who can initiate a red flag order to include politically motivated school employees and medical professionals who are increasingly influenced by "woke" ideological trends.

That means a teacher, counselor, or healthcare provider who disagrees with your beliefs or parenting decisions could trigger a legal process to have your firearms seized.

HB26-1126 - Digital Gun Registry

HB26-1126 would create a backdoor firearm registry by mandating expanded digital record keeping related to firearm transactions, centralizing data in a way that lays the groundwork for a searchable registry of gun ownership.

Government has no business tracking lawful firearm purchases or owning that kind of personal data on citizens.

Colorado law has traditionally prohibited the creation of a firearm registry, but HB26-1126 will undermine that principle.

HB26-1072 - Right to Firearm Possession & Elimination of Extreme Risk Protection Orders

HB26-1072 takes a different, much needed approach.

This bill affirms an individual’s right to own, possess, and use a firearm to the maximum extent permitted under the state and federal constitutions.

It would also fully repeal Colorado’s Red Flag ERPO law.

In short, it restores due process protections and strengthens statutory recognition of the Second Amendment.

Certainly a bill worth showing support for!

All three bills will be heard tomorrow (Monday, March 2nd) at 1:30PM so please do not delay!
