Are you familiar with the adage, Hanlon's Razor?

"Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."

It's a nice rule of thumb for everyday interactions, but in Colorado politics, it couldn't be further from the truth.

Over the last decade, our state wasn't radically transformed by idiots.

In many cases, surgical precision was utilized to make changes to laws and regulations. And when that didn't work, Democrat mega-donors simply money-bombed a sector to get their way.

And though Colorado's new-found budget deficit may be a result of mismanagement of your tax dollars, it wasn't stupidity, and it wasn't an accident.

Since the beginning of their takeover, TABOR has been the largest roadblock for Leftist radicals, and it remains our biggest ally.

Next Thursday, Colorado's Legislators will head back to Denver to address a nearly $1B budget deficit in the fiscal year which just started July 1.

If you get your news form the Governor or any of his minions, you've heard it's simply not their fault and they are the victim.

Here are some statistics to help you come to your own conclusions:

In the last 30 years, inflation plus population growth has risen 196% in Colorado.

In that same time, fee-based revenue (revenue outside the TABOR cap) has risen by 3,400%.

In just the last 7 years, our state's budget has doubled.

And with the government spending 2x what it used to, Colorado has risen to the #1 ranking for auto theft and #2 for "most dangerous", while sinking to #43 in best roads and infrastructure.

The very basic things we expect from our government, safety and infrastructure, appear to be the last thing on their mind.

It's urgent that we all contact our representatives now, before the session begins, to tell them:

No new taxes. No new fees. Stand Up for TABOR!

This budget deficit represents less than 3% of the total budget. How many times have Colorado families had to trim their budgets a few in recent years?

Our legislators can certainly do the same without raising taxes or creating any new fees.
