We've yet to reach the halfway point of the 2026 Legislative Session, but we are certainly in the thick of it right now.

As we approach 300 bills introduced, it can be difficult to keep up!

This week, the House Health and Human Services Committee will hear a bill which should be presented alongside a groundswell of support from the Colorado grassroots.

HB26-1087 - "Safeguard Minors from Sex-Altering Interventions" is an ambitious bill seeking to do the following:

  • Prohibit surgeries on minors intended to alter biological sex characteristics
  • Prohibit prescribing or administering hormones or puberty blockers for that purpose
  • Prohibit certain therapy, counseling, or referrals that promote medical transition for minors
  • Prevent the use of state or federal funding, Medicaid, or insurance coverage for these procedures

Not only will this bill help save children in Colorado from permanent genital mutilation, it goes further to block the attempts by the far Left to strip custody away from parents who choose not to "affirm" their child's gender confusion (HB25-1312 & SB26-018) would allow), and require transparency so school staff cannot withhold information from parents.

The bill will be heard this Wednesday, February 18th at 1:30 PM.

Look Familiar?

If HB26-1087 looks familiar, it's because it's very similar to Ballot Measure #110 which is wrapping up signature collection this week in hopes of appearing on November's ballot.

At the time of this email, it's unknown if enough valid signatures have been collected to qualify for the ballot.

That's why we don't want to squander the opportunity to get this bill out of committee and force a recorded vote on the bill.

Sometimes, a little sunlight is the best disinfectant!
